Apologies

So, Mr. Obama, you chose to make your international debut a series of apologies for America. We're arrogant. We don't listen. We don't appreciate the greatness of Europe. We have behaved as if we're at war with Islam. We're heavy handed supremacists. We're just plain awful...and we surely deserve whatever evil comes our way.

Speak for yourself, you pompous, ignorant, sanctimonious jerk.

America is unique in composition and character. No other nation in the history of the world has saved as many innocent lives as have Americans, at incalculable personal cost. Yes, we have more than most, but no, we don't apologize for enjoying the fruits of our hard, honest labor. We have what we have because we have something far more important - character. We have ethics, morals and values that you, in your self aggrandizing fantasy land, will never, ever be able to understand. We are proud, of ourselves, our country and our countrymen. We carry our accomplishments as a badge of honor. We are a nation of fierce individuality and we believe that our system of government, at least until recently, is the greatest ever conceived. We do not apologize for being outstanding.

You are supposed to be the first and highest representative of our nation, our primary spokesman and envoy internationally. But you have no inkling of what it means to really be an American. You have no understanding of the patriotism that is life's blood to most of those you were elected to lead. You don't understand the emotions that well up inside us as we sing along, out of tune, with the Star Spangled Banner before a baseball game, or the spark of pride that flashes inside us when we see the flag, it's colors so bold and true, gently fluttering in a warm spring breeze. You may take from us the product of our labor in your misguided quest for justice, fairness and equality - that we can forgive. But you cannot take from us the essence of what it means to be an American.

You embarrass me, Mr. Obama. Your utter lack of comprehension of what this country represents is appalling. You have the gall to extend the hand of friendship to our mortal enemies, to praise those who would rejoice in our destruction, and to paint your countrymen as the perpetrators of evil to some of the worst despots in history...all the while claiming to represent hope. You are the antithesis of hope.

America is not about handouts, it is about liberty. It is about having the freedom to make our own choices and living with the consequences of those choices, for better or for worse. We will help our neighbors in times of need, not because it is mandated, but because it is moral. We will also stand by and watch those who refuse to play by the rules fail. We believe in personal responsibility, honesty, integrity and diversity. We believe we should have the space to create our own destinies, and the fortitude to carry on when we fall short of our dreams. We believe in ourselves, not your false hope and promises of change. You see, we understand that when you speak of change, you really mean conformity - you wish to remake our nation in the model of all of the failed states which went before. We reject your change.

So, Mr. Obama, do not presume to apologize for Americans. Rather, consider apologizing to Americans, for your utter lack of understanding of the greatness of this country and the tremendous honor granted you by her citizens...the most extraordinary specimens of humanity in history.

  1. Since Election Day, in November, 2008, I have told myself that I will try, that I wil be patient, that I will hope Mr. Obama grows into the job. Now, after his European tour... and especially after his speeches in Strasbourg and in Istanbul, I am through. Barack Obama is not my president. He is dead set upon the task of destroying America.

We must all do everything in our power to stop his radical agenda until the next election, at which time we must defeat the Democrats, seize control of Congress, and set about the task of correcting the wrongs already committed.

Be it as Republicans, Libertarians, Independents, or some third, as yet unnamed party, American patriots must unite and take our country back.

We will start to be heard on april 15. To this point, the MSM is trying to ignore the coming tsunami of tea parties. A week from next Wednesday, let us make such a stink no can ignore us.

Here is a ray of sunshine... here in New Mexico, a big advocate of the coming tax day tea party is Hispanos Unidos... life-long Democrats all, joining in our protest!

  2. Outstanding news about the Hispanic involvement! More anecdotal evidence...a woman I know at work, a union member who sees only network news and has very little idea of all of the failings of the new administration, expressed her unease with the direction they're taking us to me the other day. I told her about the tea party, and think she might attend. I have also circulated a flyer about the event to several friends at work who are conservative and mad as hell...I'm getting great feedback from all of them. They say their co-workers are really excited - it almost has a feeling of being thrown a life preserver when you are drowning.

It's not a "left" thing or a "right" thing...it's an "America" thing.

  3. Another point...while it impacts a much smaller slice of the population than the high gasoline prices did, the new cigarette tax, especially coming right on the heels of a cleverly timed price increase by the tobacco companies, is going to make a lot of people very angry on a daily basis. Smokers have just seen their "tax cut for 95% of Americans" literally go up in smoke.

  4. I believe that the rest of the world's indignation is more often than not a badge of honor and should be worn as such. This is due to the fact most of the rest of the world's governments display horrible moral character in its international relationships and often internally. They don't like the U.S. because, until recently, we have done the right thing more often than not and it puts their lack of character on display. We have typically stuck to our moral compass and maintained our national integrity even when it was unpopular. As such, I find the apologies by President Obama detestable.
