There is so much wrong with this entire video that it's almost impossible to enumerate. First, Pajamas TV has the nationwide attendance number at 608,668 as I write this, with literally hundreds of the rallies that took place still missing attendance numbers. Olbermann's contention that "tens of thousands" took part in the rallies is drastically understated. Second, well...read my previous diatribe on the topic here.
The sign I carried to our rally here in Kansas City, which was chosen as one of the best at the rally, read, "This is not a left thing or a right thing. It's an AMERICAN thing." It's also not a racist thing, as evidenced by this video of
white, Republican Congressman Gresham Barrett, who sought to strengthen his suspected bid for a run for governor of South Carolina at a Tea Party rally. Only one problem - Rep. Barrett voted for the TARP bill.
Many in the crowd turned their backs on him, refusing to even consider his words. Most booed and heckled throughout. Having attended one of these rallies, and having heard the incredibly enthusiastic cheers for legal immigrant Angelo Mino, who spoke movingly on what this country means to him, I reject any claim that this movement has anything to do with race. Angelo was absolutely "one of us," and absolutely disgusted with Washington as well.
I must say, however, that I'm grateful to the MSM and their outspoken and completely misguided rants against our members. They are helping to fan the flames and attracting ever more to our cause. Few people across this country would believe nutcases like Olbermann and Garofalo over their next door neighbor who actually attended a Tea Party. The attendance at the next round will be up, not down. Beware, MSNBC - we have just begun to fight.
