Obama's approval ratings, as tracked by Rasmussen Reports, have reached their lowest point to date, while disapproval ratings continue to climb.
Two days after the inauguration, this spread hit its high point of +30. It's been a rocky few weeks. Rasmussen figures their approval rating differently than most pollsters, using only the strongly approve and strongly disapprove number to calculate the margin. The change in the total approve vs. total disapprove marks since inauguration day is nearly as large, dropping from a 35 point difference the day after inauguration to only 13 points today. Rasmussen's trends chart gives all the details.
Today's total approval percentage is 56. Plug that into the chart I posted the other day and you'll find that now, 48 days into his presidency, Obama has dropped below all of the last nine presidents except, possibly, for the first black president...Bill Clinton.
