This Date In History

Suffering with a painfully unreliable internet connection tonight. Apparently Time-Warner (Roadrunner) has been under attack of late, and our service is suffering.

But couldn't miss the chance to note that our Constitution, the most forward thinking piece of history ever written, was officially adopted 220 years ago today. The First United States Congress met in New York city on March 4, 1789, putting the Constitution into effect.

Now, two centuries later, we watch in disgust as our elected leaders violate it on a daily basis, finding it inconvenient and unproductive in their relentless pursuit of absolute power.

Have faith, my friends. The old cliches exist because they are true so much of the time... It's always darkest before the dawn. As you sow, so shall you reap. What goes around...you know. There are still freedom loving people in this country, and they're getting fed up. The rising feeling of camraderie is almost palpable, the people become more resolute with each violation of our rights. This, too, shall pass.
