Get rid of that corporate jet!

That's how the Dems are looking out for us! Stop all that foolish waste!

I haven't flown an airplane for nearly forty years, but I was once active in civil aviation. Mostly what I learned about flying was the incredible dedication and competence of people who fly airplanes for a living.

I also learned that a Gulfstream is not a stretch limo, to be parked in the garage until the boss wants to go somewhere. Or to take it in for an oil change every 5,000 miles.

Owning a Gulfstream means hiring a pilot and perhaps a co-pilot, and others... maybe A & E mechanics and possibly flight attendants, depending on how long and frequent the flights.

Getting rid of the corporate jet means the executive will now fly first class on commercial airlines. Which means he now is at the mercy of airline schedules and cancellations. Too bad if he is needed immediately to keep a factory running, or whatever CEOs are sometime required to do.

What's more, he'll get no work done as he sits in airport waiting rooms or on a commercial jet being held up on the tarmac.

And that pilot, the co-pilot and any others charged with maintaining that jet in airworthy condition, have just lost their jobs.

But, by God! We got rid of that damn corporate jet! They're looking out for you, America!
